Germany's Merz, Turkey's Erdogan discuss Middle East conflict, says Berlin

BERLIN, June 20 (Reuters) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz spoke with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan about the conflict between Israel and Iran over the phone on Friday, said a German government spokesperson.
The two leaders spoke about their diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation in the region and promised to coordinate closely going forward, said the spokesperson.
