UK government departments to cut budgets by 16% in spending review
LONDON, June 11 (Reuters) - British government departments will reduce their administration budgets by at least 16% by 2029-30 as part of finance minister Rachel Reeves' spending review announced on Wednesday.
"The (Spending Review) announces reductions in back‑office costs, with all departments reducing their administration budgets by at least 16% in real terms by 2029‑30," the government's Spending Review 2025 document said.
"This will support a rebalancing of day‑to‑day spending away from central government and towards the services that the public rely on."
