Canadian Liberal Party wins the 2025 federal election – CBC News
As polls closed in Canada, early results showed that the ruling Liberal Party won the federal election, according to CBC News.
Mark Carney will keep his job as prime minister, CBC News projected, noting that it's still too soon to tell whether he's clinched a majority or minority government.
Liberals accounted for more than 50% of the vote, followed by the Conservative Party, with a vote share of 38.6%,
A party needs to win 172 seats to form a majority government.
