China's UN envoy says US, China must work together on AI

Feb 3 (Reuters) - The United States and China should cooperate on AI and technology, China's U.N. Ambassador Fu Cong said on Monday, adding that fragmentation would only enhance risk and reduce benefits.
"Look at the Huawei. Look at Tiktok, now the DeepSeek. How many more do you want to ban?" he asked during a news conference to mark the start of China's presidency of the U.N. Security Council for February.
"Some of the knee jerk reactions need to stop and they are not warranted."
