ROME, April 14 (Reuters) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Tuesday that sanctions, exerting economic pressure on Russia, are the most "effective weapon" for pushing Moscow towards peace in Ukraine.

Meloni was speaking in Verona on the sidelines of wine fair Vinitaly.
