CIF/FOB Gulf Grain-Soy barge bids tick lower while offers rise

CHICAGO, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Basis bids for soybeans and corn shipped by barge to U.S. Gulf Coast terminals fell on Friday, while offers rose as buyers and sellers moved further apart in subdued trade, brokers said.

• CIF Gulf soybean barges loaded in February were bid at 105 cents over Chicago Board of Trade March SH26 soybean futures, down 3 cents from Thursday, while offers inched a few cents higher. March barges were bid at 105 cents over futures, also down 3 cents.

• FOB export premiums for soybeans loaded from the Gulf in March held steady at around 130 cents over CBOT March futures. Offers for April loadings were unchanged at 106 cents over May SK26 futures.

• For corn, CIF Gulf barges loaded in February were bid at 104 cents over March corn futures, down 4 cents from Thursday, while March corn barges were bid at 100 cents over futures, down 2 cents.

• FOB export premiums for March corn loadings were steady at around 123 cents over futures.

• The U.S. Department of Agriculture confirmed private sales of 257,000 metric tons of U.S. old-crop corn to undisclosed destinations.

• South Korean feedmakers were booking corn. The Major Feedmill Group (MFG) purchased about 135,000 tons of optional-origin corn in an international tender, and the Korea Feed Association (KFA) purchased around 66,000 tons in a private deal without issuing a tender, European traders said. GRA/TEND

• Traders await the results of a Saudi Arabian purchase tender for 655,000 tons of wheat. The deadline for the submission of price offers was Friday and results were expected on Monday, European traders said.
