US Plains HRW Wheat-Basis bids steady as futures ease

- Basis bids for hard red winter wheat were flat in a spot check of grain elevators in the southern U.S. Plains on Monday as futures fell.

  • Farmers continue to seed the winter wheat crop that will be harvested in 2026.

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture said that winter wheat planting was 20% complete, behind the five-year average of 23% and the average analyst estimate of 22%.

  • K.C. December hard red winter wheat KWZ25 ended down 5 cents at $5.02-1/4 a bushel.
