- Basis bids for hard red winter (HRW) wheat were steady in a spot check of grain elevators in the southern U.S. Plains on Thursday as futures eased.

  • Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures closed lower on spillover weakness from falling corn futures.

  • Forecaster Vaisala said rain over the past week has favored the northern and western portions of the hard red winter wheat belt, maintaining favorable conditions for wheat germination.

  • K.C. December hard red winter wheat KWZ25 ended 6-1/4 cents lower at $5.10 per bushel.
