CBOT wheat ends lower on spillover pressure
CHICAGO, Sept 18 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures closed lower on spillover weakness from falling corn futures.
CBOT December soft red winter wheat WZ25 settled 4 cents lower at $5.24-1/4 per bushel.
K.C. December hard red winter wheat KWZ25 ended 6-1/4 cents lower at $5.10 per bushel.
Minneapolis December spring wheat MWEZ25 ended 2-1/4 cents lower at $5.71-3/4 per bushel.
Weekly U.S. wheat export sales totalled 377,500 metric tons, at the low end of a range of trade expectations.
Ample global supplies hung over the market as well. The International Grains Council raised its forecast for 2025/26 global wheat production by 8 million metric tons, to 819 million tons.
A strengthening dollar has also added pressure to wheat futures. A stronger dollar makes U.S. goods less competitive globally.
