CIF/FOB Gulf Grain-Corn, soybean barge bids steady to lower

CHICAGO, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Basis bids for corn and soybeans shipped by barge to U.S. Gulf Coast terminals were steady to lower on Monday, traders said.

• Cash basis bids for soybeans were flat to lower at processors on Monday, and corn basis bids were flat to lower at river terminals and ethanol plants in the U.S. Midwest.

• Freight rates for empty barges for the spot market eased over the weekend in some spots along the Mississippi River, two brokers said. BG/US

• As South Korea and the United States prepare for a summit of their leaders, topics left unresolved by a recent trade deal provide scope for more disputes between the key allies and trade partners, six former negotiators and experts said.

• U.S. Department of Agriculture on Monday reported weekly export inspections of corn and wheat at the high end of trade expectations, and weekly soybean inspections as exceeding analyst expectations.

• After the market closed Monday, commodity brokerage StoneX projected U.S. 2025 corn production at 16.323 billion bushels, with an average yield of 188.1 bushels per acre (bpa) - above USDA's latest corn harvest projection.

• CIF Gulf corn barges loaded in July were bid a penny lower at 82 cents over Chicago Board of Trade September CU25 futures. August corn barge bids were steady at 82 cents over futures.

• FOB export premiums for corn shipped from the Gulf in September ticked down a penny at 114 cents over September futures. October offers held at 97 cents over December futures CZ25.

• CIF Gulf soybean barge bids for July loadings were 83 cents over August futures SQ25, down about 1 cent from Friday. August bids were down 6 cents to 83 cents over futures.

• FOB export premiums for soybeans shipped from the Gulf in the first-half of September were steady at 94 cents over August futures.
