CHICAGO, June 18 (Reuters) - Spot soybean and corn basis bids were mixed in the U.S. Midwest on Wednesday as selling was slow and futures chopped up and down, analysts said.
Soybean bids fell at an Ohio elevator and rose at an Illinois river terminal.
The corn basis fell at an Iowa processor.
The Chicago Board of Trade will be closed on Thursday for the Juneteenth holiday.
Support for agricultural commodities such as soybeans and corn has been underpinned by rising energy prices, fueled by escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. Higher crude oil prices improve the competitiveness of soyoil and corn as biofuel feedstocks.
Chicago Board of Trade July soybean futures SN25 were last up 2 cents to $10.75-1/2 per bushel.
CBOT corn futures were last down 3/4 cent to $4.30-3/4 per bushel.
