June 10 - (The Insurer) - Hurricane Barbara, which initially formed southwest of Mexico on Monday morning as the first hurricane of the eastern Pacific season 2025 season, has since weakened to a tropical storm and is expected to dissipate by Wednesday evening.
According to a Tuesday morning advisory from NOAA, continued weakening is forecast, with Barbara expected to become a remnant low by Wednesday and dissipate by Wednesday night.
NOAA reported that maximum sustained winds have decreased to approximately 50 mph, with higher gusts, and tropical-storm-force winds are extending outward up to 60 miles (95 km) from the center.
There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
The hurricane season in the Eastern Pacific began on May 15, followed by the start of the Atlantic season on June 1. Both seasons are scheduled to run through November 30.
