RSUM brings together renewable energy MGUs into new platform

June 9 - (The Insurer) - Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers has introduced Ryan Specialty Renewables, a new international renewable energy platform.
The unit consolidates renewable energy MGUs, including PERse Americas, PERse International, new formations by Ryan Specialty, and Albus, which Ryan Specialty acquired from Castel Underwriting Agencies in May 2024.
Ryan Specialty Renewables offers insurance solutions for offshore and onshore wind, solar, battery energy storage system assets, and a variety of other energy transition solutions worldwide.
The combined unit will provide a range of products, including coverage for operational facilities, construction, transit, and natural catastrophes, with plans to expand these offerings.
The alignment of operations for Ryan Specialty Renewables is expected to be completed in the second half of 2025, the company stated.
Additionally, Stuart Burchell has been appointed as president, international, for Ryan Specialty Renewables.
“This integration not only enhances our underwriting capabilities and technical depth but also reinforces our commitment to supporting the global energy transition,” said James Montgomery, CEO of RSUM International.
