CIF/FOB Gulf Grain-Soybean barge bids firm slightly, corn bids generally steady

CHICAGO, June 6 (Reuters) - Basis bids for soybeans delivered by barge to U.S. Gulf Coast terminals ticked higher on Friday, while bids for corn loadings in nearby months were mostly steady, traders said.

• The U.S. Department of Agriculture is slated to update U.S. corn and soy crop condition ratings in a weekly report on Monday.

• A planned meeting between U.S. and Chinese officials on trade is expected within seven days, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said on Friday, after the countries' leaders spoke by phone on Thursday.

• CIF soybean barges loaded in June were bid at 70 cents over Chicago Board of Trade July SN25 futures, up 2 cents from Thursday.

• June soybean loadings traded at 74 cents over July futures, and traded at 75 cents over July futures.

• FOB export premiums for soybeans loaded from the Gulf in June were offered at about 78 cents over July futures, which were unchanged.

• For corn, CIF barges loaded in June were bid at 65 cents over CBOT July corn futures CN25, steady from Thursday.

• FOB export premiums for corn shipped from the Gulf in June were up 1 cent at about 82 cents over CBOT July corn futures. Premiums also rose for shipments later in the year.

• The European Union reimposed duties and quotas on Ukrainian agricultural products from Friday, and hopes to clinch a deal on new quotas that will be smaller than imports during the last three years after Russia's invasion, the EU's agriculture commissioner told Reuters.
