US Cash Grains-Corn, soy bids flat in the Midwest

CHICAGO, May 2 (Reuters) - Corn and soybean basis bids were steady in the U.S. Midwest on Friday as selling remained slow and buyers finished rolling basis bids to the July contract, dealers said.

• A focus on corn and soy planting has made farmers reluctant sellers.

• Wet weather may delay seeding in parts of the U.S. Midwest, though market players expect farmers to be able to plant all of their intended crops.

• The U.S. Department of Agriculture has projected that corn plantings will climb by 5% in 2025 to their highest in 12 years.

• Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures closed higher on Friday amid hopes for a thaw in U.S. President Donald Trump's trade war with China, the world's top importer of the oilseed, analysts said.

• Chicago Board of Trade July soybeans SN25 rose 7-3/4 cents to end at $10.58 per bushel.

• CBOT June corn futures CN25 slipped 3-1/4 cents to $4.69 per bushel.
