Feb 6 (Reuters) - Steelmaker ArcelorMittal MT.LU said on Thursday it would build a new advanced manufacturing facility in Calvert, Alabama, as it seeks to increase its steel production capacity in the U.S.
The world's second largest steelmaker said the plant would be able to deliver up to 150 kilotons of premium non-grain-oriented electrical steel (NOES) annually.
The cost of construction is estimated at $0.9 billion, with an expected production start in the latter half of 2027, ArcelorMittal said.
