Gold (XAU/USD) attracts fresh sellers after failing to find acceptance above the $4,100 mark during the Asian session on Friday, extending the previous day's retracement slide from a two-week high.
Gold price (XAU/USD) jumps to a more than two-week high near $4,085 during the early Asian session on Friday, bolstered by a weaker US Dollar (USD) and lower oil prices. Traders will closely monitor the US September employment report for clues on rate policy, due later on Friday.
Gold (XAU/USD) climbs some 1% on Thursday as the Greenback edges lower amid solid US data and hawkish comments by Federal Reserve (Fed) officials. The XAU/USD trades above $4,100 after bouncing off daily lows of $4,057.
OCBC strategists Sim Moh Siong and Christopher Wong note that Gold has rebounded following the US midterm elections, supported by a weaker US Dollar (USD), lower Treasury yields and softer Oil prices, reclaiming the $4,000 level.
Gold (XAU/USD) extends gains on Thursday, moving further away from the year-to-date low of $3,870 touched last week. The metal attracts buyers as the US midterm election results fuel volatility across financial markets. At the time of writing, XAU/USD trades around $4,130, near two-week highs.
ING strategists Warren Patterson and Ewa Manthey note that Gold has jumped back above $4,000/oz after the Democratic sweep in the US midterms, helped by lower Treasury yields, a weaker Dollar and strong central bank buying. They caution that near-term prospects remain challenging as inflation keeps monetary policy expectations tight and Middle East developments stay crucial.
