TradingKey – Iranian cryptocurrency exchange Nobitex has reportedly been attacked by Israeli hacker group Gonjeshke Darande, though the platform claims user funds remain secure and an investigation is underway.
According to on-chain investigator ZachXBT, the Israeli-linked hacking group Gonjeshke Darande allegedly breached Nobitex on June 18 and has threatened to release internal exchange data within 24 hours.
In response, Nobitex posted a statement on X, assuring users that most assets are stored in unaffected cold wallets, and all user funds remain safe. The exchange’s security team has isolated compromised systems and launched a full investigation. Additionally, Nobitex has pledged to cover any potential losses through its insurance fund and internal reserves.
The Gonjeshke Darande hacking group has previously targeted Iran’s infrastructure, including railway systems, steel plants, and fuel distribution networks. In December 2023, the group carried out a major cyberattack, disrupting 70% of Iran’s gas stations.
