Bitcoin ETF weekly trading volume falls to lowest since October 2024 as ether funds lead inflows again

U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded their lowest trading volume for a full five-session week since October 2024, while ether ETFs continued to outperform their larger counterparts in attracting new capital.

Spot bitcoin ETF trading volume totaled roughly $8.05 billion during the week ending Friday, down 14% from $9.37 billion in the preceding period, according to The Block’s analysis of SoSoValue data.

The funds last posted lower weekly volume in April 2025, though that period contained only four trading sessions because U.S. markets were closed for Good Friday. Among full five-session weeks, the latest figure was the lowest since the week ending Oct. 11, 2024.

When Robinhood Chain first launched, its activity was dominated by speculative memecoin trading rather than the original reason it was built — tokenization.

However, the momentum has finally started to shift, less than two weeks later.

Real-world assets now carry an active market value of about $70 million, according to DefiLlama, a roughly fivefold jump from the low tens of millions of dollars, which was a small slice of the network at just 4%, while memecoins and stablecoins accounted for most of the activity. The tokenized equities for which the chain was designed are finally trading in larger sizes.
