Pakistan is exploring ways to restart US‑Iran talks to end a nearly five‑month‑long war, three Pakistani sources said. Iran interior minister Eskandar Momeni held exploratory talks in Islamabad this week—his second visit in 10 days—and met Pakistani leaders and army chief Asim Munir.
The sources warned obstacles to negotiating with the United States remain high.
US stocks jumped on the news. Dow gained 0.6%; S&P jumped 0.5%.

Oil futres dropped. Brent oil futures sank 2% to $85.18 a barrel; WTI crude oil futures sank 4.13% to $88.38.
