Industry sources said on Wednesday Meta is in talks with Samsung Foundry to co-design and produce next‑generation ASICs valued at more than 10 trillion won.
Meta’s in‑house AI accelerator MTIA was fabbed by TSMC for its first two generations, but the company has decided to switch to Samsung starting with the third generation due this year.
The third‑gen MTIA is confirmed for mass production on Samsung’s advanced 2nm process, with output expected in the hundreds of thousands of units.
