US Treasury Sec. Bessent: Not in a rush to nominate Powell's replacement

In an interview with Bloomberg TV on Wednesday, United States (US) Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent noted that they are not in a rush to nominate a new Federal Reserve (Fed) chair to replace Chairman Jerome Powell.
Bessent further noted that the continues to have regular meetings with Powell and added that Powell has not said that the is going to leave his board seat.
Market reaction
The US Dollar Index showed no immediate reaction to these remarks and was last seen trading flat on the day at 97.40.
