US Pres. Trump: Our deal with China is done, subject to final approval

In a post published on Truth Social on Wednesday, United States (US) President Donald Trump said that the trade deal with China is done and added that it is subject to his and Chinese President Xi Jinping's final approval.

"Full magnets, and any necessary rare earths, will be supplied, up front, by China. Likewise, we will provide to China what was agreed to, including Chinese students using our colleges and universities (which has always been good with me!)," Trump said and added:

"We are getting a total of 55% tariffs, China is getting 10%. Relationship is excellent! Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

Market reaction

The US Dollar (USD) Index showed no reaction to this headline and was last seen moving sideways slightly above 99.00.
