TradingKey - Mohsen Rezaee, a military advisor to Iran's new Supreme Leader, stated in an interview broadcast on Iranian state television on March 23 that Iran will only cease hostilities once it receives full reparations, all economic sanctions are lifted, and it obtains international legal guarantees from the United States regarding non-interference in Iranian affairs.

Rezaee emphasized that the dispute is not just about the current conflict, nor is it simply a continuation of the aftermath of the U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran last June; rather, it is a 47-year confrontation that has persisted since the 1979 Iranian Islamic Revolution, and both sides must reach a "final resolution."

Rezaee's remarks sent a clear hawkish signal, indicating that external expectations for de-escalation remain limited. Reuters previously reported that Iran's new Supreme Leader has rejected de-escalation proposals conveyed through intermediaries and demanded that the U.S. and Israel first "admit defeat" before peace talks occur.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Pezeshkian also stated that ending the war requires an immediate cessation of U.S. and Israeli actions and guarantees against future attacks.

Analysts pointed out that as Iran continues to raise the bar for negotiations, it remains difficult for Middle East tensions to truly subside in the short term, and oil prices ( USOIL ), gold ( XAUUSD) and global risk assets could all remain sensitive to news headlines.

The U.S., meanwhile, continues to regulate the energy market through measures such as sanctions and temporary waivers, indicating that Washington is also creating buffer space for the risk of conflict spillover.
