Labour Day is around the corner. Trading activities will be affected for the Singapore market, Hong Kong market, China A-share market.

Please take note of the trading arrangements during the holiday period and make the necessary preparations in advance.

Hong Kong stock markets and Singapore stock markets will be closed on Friday, May 1, 2026, for Labour Day.

China A-share market will be closed from May 1 to May 5, in observance of Labour Day.

Labour Day

Labour Day (or Labor Day) is an official public holiday in many countries. The actual date of the holiday can vary. For instance, in North America, it is celebrated on the first Monday in September. In other parts of the world, it is often celebrated on the first Monday in May. It is an annual day of celebration of the labour movement and the institution of achievements. It has its origins in the labour union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.
