TradingKey - OpenAI has abandoned its transformation plan. However, Elon Musk is still pursuing a lawsuit, likely to protect his interests in AI company xAI.

On Monday, Eastern Time, OpenAI announced that it will not become a for-profit company. Its non-profit parent organization, OpenAI Inc, will remain the main shareholder and control its for-profit operations.

Even with this announcement, Musk has not dropped the lawsuit. According to Musk’s legal team, “Even though OpenAI has announced nonprofit control, Musk will still proceed with the lawsuit.”

The reason Musk insists on pursuing legal action may be closely tied to protecting the interests of his own AI. Last year, he made various accusations against OpenAI, apart from concerns over its structural shift toward commercialization and claims that OpenAI blocked investors from supporting his AI company, xAI.
