Tencent's WeChat Restricts Yuanbao Links Over Improper Sharing
View all comments(0)
WeChat, part of Tencent, announced measures against Yuanbao links—also a Tencent product—that violated platform rules. The action targets excessive marketing and task- or red-envelope-based sharing that encouraged high-frequency posting to groups, disrupting platform order and user experience. Yuanbao’s offending links will be restricted from opening directly in WeChat, effective immediately.
Tencent shares dropped 3.2% in Hong Kong.
