Gold and silver stocks and ETFs rebounded in premarket trading. Gold Fields rose 3%; Anglogold Ashanti, Hecla Mining, Harmony Gold, and Newmont Mining rose 2%; Barrick Mining, Coeur Mining, and Kinross rose 1%; SPDR Gold ETF rose 0.8%.

Endeavour Silver rose 3%; iShares Silver Trust, Pan American Silver, First Majestic Silver, and Hycroft Mining rose 2%.

Gold rose on Tuesday, recovering from a sharp selloff in the previous session, as thin year-end trade exacerbated volatility, with traders expecting fundamental drivers to carry precious metals to new highs in 2026.

Spot gold was up 0.7% at $4,361.71 per ounce, as of 0709 GMT, after hitting a record high of $4,549.71 on Friday. It fell to its lowest since December 17 on Monday, marking its sharpest daily percentage loss since October 21.

U.S. gold futures for February delivery were up 0.8% at $4,377.20/oz.

Spot silver was up 3.1% at $74.49 per ounce, after hitting an all-time high of $83.62 in the previous session. Silver logged its biggest daily loss since August 11, 2020, on Monday.

US-listed Baidu shares rose nearly 5% in pre-market trading as the company expands its autonomous vehicle operations to the UK, and its self-developed AI chip, Kunlunxin, is expected to enter a growth phase.
