US-listed shares of NIO gained 3.6% in morning trading.

NIO has delivered its 40,000th third-generation ES8, just 11 days after the 30,000th unit of the large electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) was delivered, as the company aims to deliver more of the model before year-end.
The electric vehicle (EV) maker announced this milestone on its social media accounts today without providing further details.
NIO's head of user operations Yang Bo first shared the milestone on Weibo earlier today, stating that the 40,000th all-new ES8 was delivered to its owner in Zhongshan, Guangdong.
The delivery of the 40,000th all-new ES8 means NIO has met its annual target for this large electric SUV as planned.
This achievement comes just 100 days after the model's launch, implying about 20,000 units were delivered in December.
