Reddit shares plunged over 10% on Wednesday. Media chatter that ChatGPT owner OpenAI is looking to reduce Reddit citations in its answers could possibly be among the reasons for the stock's negative reaction.

The stock's decline also comes after Elon Musk shared on his social media platform X that his AI company xAI is working on creating a platform that will compete against the likes of Wikipedia, which could even possibly rival Reddit.
