Meituan shares jumped 4% in afternoon trading.

According to data from Meituan, in the first half of 2025, high-frequency delivery riders earned an average monthly income ranging from RMB 6,949 to RMB 10,201. For the more experienced riders known as the “Le Run” group, monthly income in top-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen reached as high as RMB 12,826. Since the second quarter, driven by high temperatures and peak order volumes, the average monthly income of high-frequency riders across all city tiers has increased by more than 20% year on year.

On the welfare side, starting July 1, the “Occupational Injury Protection for New Employment Forms” (delivery rider work injury insurance) has been expanded to 17 provinces and municipalities. Meituan pays the premiums on a per-order basis, with every order and every rider covered. Since the pilot program launched in 2022, Meituan has paid a cumulative total of more than RMB 1.5 billion in contributions as of the first half of this year.

According to Bloomberg, Oracle has sent a formal notice to developer Stack Infrastructure, seeking to delay payments if the project fails to become operational as planned in 2028. This move does not imply exiting its position as the primary tenant, nor does it mean a payment waiver has been granted. Oracle maintained that the project is proceeding according to schedule, but did not specifically address the notice itself.
