Tariff talks progress, news expected by day’s end: Hassett

Investing.com -- Kevin Hassett, Director of the National Economic Council, expressed optimism regarding ongoing tariff discussions, stating that the Trump administration is making headway. He indicated that updates on the matter are likely to be announced before the end of the day.
Hassett made these comments during an appearance on CNBC. He expressed hope for progress with China, stating that they are very close to making headway. Hassett also mentioned that the administration has received tough trade offers from more than 20 countries.
In addition to the tariff talks, Hassett touched upon tax matters, stating that President Trump does not support an increase in taxes on the wealthy.
