Netherlands shares lower at close of trade; AEX down 0.24%

Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Oil&Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.24%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which rose 2.37% or 0.58 points to trade at 25.09 at the close. Prosus (AS:PRX) added 1.09% or 0.44 points to end at 40.21 and Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) was up 0.55% or 8.00 points to 1,458.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Heineken (AS:HEIN), which lost 1.41% or 1.12 points to trade at 78.52 in late trade. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) declined 1.09% or 1.25 points to end at 113.40 and Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) shed 1.01% or 0.24 points to 23.62.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 68 to 34 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.39% or 0.26 to $67.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.46% or 0.33 to hit $70.67 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.00% or 27.55 to trade at $2,783.45 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 104.23.
