Belgium shares higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 0.19%
Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 2.40% or 0.60 points to trade at 25.64 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) added 1.71% or 0.19 points to end at 11.30 and Elia (EBR:ELI) was up 1.36% or 1.25 points to 93.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.20% or 0.60 points to trade at 26.68 in late trade. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 1.27% or 6.60 points to end at 514.40 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) shed 0.80% or 0.31 points to 38.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 49 to 40 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.03% or 0.80 to $2,753.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 5.68% or 4.08 to hit $67.70 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 5.61% or 4.24 to trade at $71.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 104.15.
