
Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 1.70% or 2.95 points to trade at 176.70 at the close. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) added 1.11% or 0.07 points to end at 6.35 and Ageas (EBR:AGES) was up 0.75% or 0.36 points to 48.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which lost 2.50% or 1.86 points to trade at 72.44 in late trade. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 1.72% or 9.00 points to end at 513.60 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 1.45% or 0.40 points to 27.18.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 41 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.50% or 13.55 to $2,742.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.02% or 0.72 to hit $70.05 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.91% or 0.68 to trade at $74.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 104.06.
