
Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.52% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 0.46% or 0.06 points to trade at 13.12 at the close. Semapa (ELI:SEM) added 0.13% or 0.02 points to end at 14.92 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 0.12% or 0.01 points to 4.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which lost 2.06% or 0.18 points to trade at 8.57 in late trade. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) declined 1.49% or 0.04 points to end at 2.51 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) shed 1.19% or 0.01 points to 0.92.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 7 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.66% or 1.26 to $74.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.69% or 1.21 to hit $70.53 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.92% or 25.35 to trade at $2,734.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 104.31.
