FTSE 100 welcomes the week higher; shares mixed at market open

Investing.com – U.K. equities started mixed on Monday. The top gainers were Mining, Personal Goods and Household Goods sectors. Construction & Building Materials, Support Services and Media were the top fallers.
At the market open in London, the FTSE 100 Index rose 0.24%. The FTSE 250 Index and the FTSE 350 Index also increased. The FTSE 250 climbed 0.18%, while the FTSE 350 was up by 0.20%.
Top Gainers:
- Fresnillo (LON:FRES): Increased 4.66% or 32.79 points to 735.79.
- Barratt Developments (LON:BTRW): Rose 1.80% or 8.80 points to 496.90 .
- Antofagasta (LON:ANTO): Climbed 1.97% or 36.00 points to 1,865.00.

Top Losers:
- Intertek Group PLC (LON:ITRK): Dropped 2.52% or 129.0 points to 4,986.0.
- F&C Investment Trust PLC (LON:FCIT): Fell 0.24% or 2.59 points to 1,065.41.
- Tesco (LON:TSCO): Declined 0.53% or 1.90 points to 359.90.

In Commodities Trading:
- Gold Futures for December delivery rose 13.70 points to 2,743.70 a troy ounce.
- Crude Oil for December delivery climbed 0.64 points to 69.33 a barrel.
- December Brent Oil Contract increased 0.64% or 0.47 points to 73.53 a barrel.
Currency Markets:
- GBP/USD is trading at 1.3027.
- EUR/GBP is at 0.8329.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 103.427.
Main Economic Events:
Today's main economic event in the United Kingdom is the HPI from Rightmove.
