Investing.com – U.K. equities started mixed on Thursday. The top gainers were Industrial Engineering, Beverages and Support Services sectors; while the top losers were General Industrials, Household Goods and Industrial Metals & Mining.
At the market open in London, the FTSE 100 Index fell 0.06%. The FTSE 250 Index and the FTSE 350 Index were mixed. The FTSE 250 climbed 0.02%, while the FTSE 350 was up by 0.02%.
Top Gainers:
- Rentokil (LON:RTO): Increased 8.91% or 30.40 points to 371.50.
- Entain (LON:ENT): Rose 3.06% or 21.80 points to 733.80.
- Spirax-Sarco Engineering (LON:SPX): Climbed 2.76% or 185.0 points to 6,900.0.

Top Losers:
- Mondi (LON:MNDI): Dropped 7.06% or 98.20 points to 1,291.80.
- Antofagasta (LON:ANTO): Fell 2.39% or 43.50 points to 1,776.00.
- Persimmon (LON:PSN): Declined 2.09% or 36.0 points to 1,684.0.

In Commodities Trading:
- Gold Futures for December delivery rose 6.50 points to 2,697.80 a troy ounce.
- Crude Oil for November delivery dropped 0.21 points to 70.18 a barrel.
- December Brent Oil Contract declined 0.27% or 0.20 points to 74.02 a barrel.
Currency Markets:
- GBP/USD is trading at 1.2982.
- EUR/GBP is at 0.8359.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 103.450.
