Portugal shares higher at close of trade; PSI up 0.78%
Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 5.58% or 0.14 points to trade at 2.61 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 2.14% or 0.30 points to end at 14.32 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 1.60% or 0.06 points to 3.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR), which lost 0.75% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.72 in late trade. Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) declined 0.58% or 0.03 points to end at 5.16 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) shed 0.53% or 0.01 points to 0.94.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 8 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $74.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.16% or 0.11 to hit $70.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 6.50 to trade at $2,685.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 103.29.
