Finland shares higher at close of trade; OMX Helsinki 25 up 0.55%

Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.55%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:TYRES), which rose 2.59% or 0.22 points to trade at 8.64 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 2.46% or 0.10 points to end at 4.08 and Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) was up 1.23% or 0.12 points to 9.51 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 2.37% or 0.08 points to trade at 3.41 in late trade. Nordea Bank Abp (HE:NDAFI) declined 0.62% or 0.07 points to end at 10.38 and Kojamo (HE:KOJAMO) shed 0.57% or 0.06 points to 9.61.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 109 to 60 and 20 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.54% or 0.42 to $76.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.30% or 0.22 to hit $73.35 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 2.25 to trade at $2,633.15 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 102.61.
