Greece shares higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.35%

Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.35%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr), which rose 4.65% or 0.15 points to trade at 3.26 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) added 3.48% or 0.04 points to end at 1.19 and Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr) was up 2.66% or 0.32 points to 12.34 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 2.69% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.33 in late trade. Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) declined 1.92% or 0.19 points to end at 9.69 and Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) shed 1.91% or 0.40 points to 20.50.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 61 to 56 and 27 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.28% or 7.10 to $2,553.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.17% or 2.37 to hit $77.20 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.61% or 2.04 to trade at $80.19 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 100.63.
