Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 4.49% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.38 at the close. Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) added 3.70% or 0.08 points to end at 2.10 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) was up 3.13% or 0.18 points to 5.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr), which lost 1.69% or 0.17 points to trade at 9.89 in late trade. Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) declined 1.57% or 0.05 points to end at 3.14 and Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA (AT:OTEr) shed 1.52% or 0.23 points to 14.94.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 48 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.24% or 31.60 to $2,515.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.49% or 1.07 to hit $73.00 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.46% or 1.11 to trade at $77.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.43% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 101.38.
