Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 2.48% or 0.62 points to trade at 25.66 at the close. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 2.47% or 3.85 points to end at 159.75 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.52% or 0.34 points to 22.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elia (EBR:ELI), which lost 0.63% or 0.60 points to trade at 94.95 in late trade. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) declined 0.08% or 0.05 points to end at 61.65 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 61.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 61 to 29 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.20% or 5.10 to $2,545.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.03% or 0.75 to hit $72.42 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.59 to trade at $76.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 101.07.
