Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 1.29% or 0.06 points to trade at 4.31 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 0.24% or 0.04 points to end at 16.67 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) was up 0.21% or 0.04 points to 19.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which lost 2.72% or 0.09 points to trade at 3.36 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) declined 0.45% or 0.04 points to end at 8.87 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) 0.32% or 0.00 points to 0.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 12 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.85% or 0.66 to $76.54 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.11% or 0.81 to hit $72.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 5.80 to trade at $2,544.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 101.07.
