Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 3.49% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.08 at the close. Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) added 2.74% or 0.40 points to end at 15.00 and Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr) was up 2.69% or 0.29 points to 11.06 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which lost 4.76% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.00 in late trade. Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) declined 4.10% or 0.05 points to end at 1.17 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) shed 2.12% or 0.24 points to 11.08.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 63 to 56 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.36% or 9.10 to $2,541.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.45% or 0.33 to hit $73.50 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.40 to trade at $77.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 101.24.
