FTSE 100 down; U.K. shares mixed at market open

Investing.com – U.K. equities started both with gains and losses on Tuesday, with rises in Mining, Automobiles & Parts and Software & Computer Services; falls in Mobile Telecommunications, Oil & Gas and Industrial Metals & Mining.

At the market open in London, the FTSE 100 Index was down 0.35%. The FTSE 250 Index and the FTSE 350 Index were mixed. The FTSE 250 increased a little, 0.04%, while the FTSE 350 was down by 0.25%.

  • EasyJet (LON:EZJ): Rose 1.02% or 4.40 points to 437.60
  • Smurfit Kappa (LON:SWR): Climbed 1.00% or 33.0 points to 3,344.0
  • IAG (LON:ICAG): Increased 0.93% or 1.60 points to 173.95

Top Losers:

  • BT Group (LON:BT): Fell 4.84% or 7.05 points to 138.55
  • Shell (LON:SHEL): Dropped 1.53% or 43.0 points to 2,770.0
  • BP (LON:BP): Declined 1.46% or 6.45 points to 435.60
