GXO Q3 Organic Revenue Growth Hits Three-Year High
GXO Logistics reported third-quarter 2026 organic revenue growth of 6.4% and a 13% increase in adjusted diluted EPS to $0.89, driven by strong contract wins and a record $3.1 billion sales pipeline. However, operating margins compressed and free cash flow declined due to increased capital expenditures. Management maintained its full-year 2026 guidance, expecting organic revenue growth of 4% to 5% and adjusted EBITDA of $945 million to $965 million. Key risks include macroeconomic volatility, labor costs, competitive pricing pressures, and integration uncertainties regarding recent acquisitions and automation deployments.
GXO Logistics reported its strongest organic revenue growth in more than three years in the third quarter of 2026, supported by new contract wins and a growing sales pipeline. Revenue increased 5.7% year over year to $3.59 billion, while organic revenue rose 6.4%. Adjusted diluted earnings per share climbed 13% to $0.89, though adjusted EBITDA was unchanged and cash generation declined.
Net income was $65 million for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with $60 million a year earlier. Net income attributable to GXO increased to $64 million from $59 million. Adjusted net income attributable to the company rose to $102 million from $91 million.
Adjusted EBITDA remained at $251 million despite the higher revenue, reducing the adjusted EBITDA margin to 7.0% from 7.4%. Operating income fell to $96 million from $118 million, and the operating margin narrowed to 2.7% from 3.5%. Adjusted EBITA declined slightly to $163 million from $164 million, with its margin falling to 4.5% from 4.8%.
For the first nine months of 2026, revenue grew 6.8% to $10.33 billion, while organic revenue increased 4.7%. Adjusted EBITDA rose to $670 million from $626 million, and adjusted diluted EPS increased to $1.98 from $1.64. GXO recorded net income attributable to the company of $93 million, reversing a loss of $11 million in the prior-year period.
Contract wins support 2027 revenue base
GXO secured $375 million of new business during the third quarter, up 34% from $280 million a year earlier. New wins for the first nine months totaled $1.01 billion, an increase of 24% from $814 million.
Contracts won through the third quarter are expected to contribute $630 million of incremental revenue in 2027, based on the foreign-exchange assumptions disclosed by the company. That compares with a year-ahead incremental revenue position of $690 million at the end of the third quarter of 2025.
The sales pipeline reached a record $3.1 billion, up from $2.3 billion a year earlier. North America accounted for 43% of the pipeline, compared with 31% in the prior-year quarter. About 34% of the pipeline was concentrated in GXO’s four strategic growth verticals: aerospace and defense, technology and data centers, industrials, and life sciences.
Approximately 40% of year-to-date new business wins came from those strategic verticals. Wins in the categories increased to $122 million in the third quarter from $43 million a year earlier and to $411 million for the first nine months from $132 million.
Of GXO’s 2026 contract wins, 41% represented new activity at sites established to support customer growth, 33% came from business transferred from competing third-party logistics providers, and 26% involved operations previously managed in-house by customers.
Automation and operational initiatives
Management identified commercial execution, site-level productivity and technology deployment as its main operating priorities. The company has launched its “GXO Way” operating playbook across strategic sites, focusing on labor management systems, automation and the use of its global scale. GXO has also formalized a global procurement strategy intended to identify cost opportunities across its network.
Its warehouse artificial-intelligence platform has been operating across all three regions since the first quarter of 2026. The company is rolling out AI agents for forecasting, replenishment and picking optimization, and is targeting about 50 sites for deployment of its GXO IQ platform during 2026.
Cash flow declines as investment continues
Third-quarter operating cash flow decreased to $156 million from $232 million, while free cash flow fell to $85 million from $187 million. For the first nine months, operating cash flow was nearly unchanged at $263 million, but free cash flow declined to $66 million from $96 million as net capital expenditures increased to $197 million from $168 million.
GXO’s operating return on invested capital was 45.6%, down from 48.6% a year earlier but above its long-term target of more than 30%. Net leverage remained unchanged at 2.7 times adjusted EBITDA. At Sept. 30, the company had $2.82 billion of total debt, $340 million of cash and cash equivalents, and net debt of $2.48 billion.
Full-year guidance maintained
GXO maintained its previous full-year 2026 outlook. The company continues to expect organic revenue growth of 4% to 5%, adjusted EBITDA of $945 million to $965 million, adjusted diluted EPS of $2.95 to $3.15, and free cash flow conversion of 30% to 40%. The guidance is based on current foreign-exchange rates.
The outlook remains subject to risks including economic conditions, labor shortages and higher labor costs, competition and pricing pressure, currency and interest-rate fluctuations, customer spending, technology and cybersecurity disruptions, and the company’s ability to align capital investment with demand. GXO also cited risks related to integrating acquisitions, including Wincanton, achieving anticipated cost savings and profitability improvements, and implementing automation and artificial-intelligence initiatives successfully.
