Investment Focuses on Health, Wealth and Leaves
Alight identified Health penetration, Wealth development and Leaves expansion as its three main growth priorities. In Health, the company is seeking to deepen relationships with brokers and third-party evaluators while broadening its network of benefits offerings. In Wealth, where Alight administers $1.7 trillion of assets, its initiatives include a BNY collaboration, rollover individual retirement accounts, stable value funds and mid-market defined-contribution opportunities. The company also sees room to cross-sell Leaves services to existing Health clients and expand beyond Fortune 500 employers.
The acquisition of Abett adds a data engine designed to connect and standardize information from health plans, pharmacy benefit managers, benefits administration platforms, workforce systems and point solutions. Alight said the technology is intended to give clients a consolidated view of benefits-program performance and help identify populations that may benefit from specific actions.
The company is also modernizing its participant service operations. Its natural-language call system resolved 28% of participant issues without an agent, while automated call summaries reduced representative time per call by 30 seconds. An agent-assistance tool reduced call-handling time by 40 seconds, according to the presentation. Alight has also brought certain critical client-service functions in-house and expanded account-executive coverage to clients representing more than 95% of recurring revenue.
Three-Year Plan Targets Stabilization and Expansion
Alight’s three-year plan prioritizes delivery reliability and retention in 2026, followed by efforts to build business momentum in 2027. Management expects efficiency gains from delivery realignment and AI-enabled workflows next year, along with improved bookings and stabilized renewal outcomes. For 2028, the company expects revenue to stabilize, sales to expand and margins to continue expanding through AI enablement.
Those objectives remain subject to execution and market risks. Alight identified potential challenges including weaker economic activity, competition, the separation of its Payroll and Professional Services business, unsuccessful operational or technology improvements, cybersecurity incidents, regulatory changes and risks associated with AI and machine learning. The company also cautioned that client-volume changes and early contract terminations or renewals could cause revenue under contract and annual recurring revenue bookings to differ from realized results.
