Iraqi PM calls for urgent security meeting after Saudi-US strikes

Iraqi Prime Minister (PM) Ali Faleh al-Zaydi has called for an urgent security meeting on Wednesday following joint military operation from Saudi Arabia and the United States (US), according to a statement. The nation also reported that at least 20 of Iraq’s Iran-backed Shi’ite popular mobilisation forces members were killed.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia said that it carried out targeted strikes against Iran-backed armed groups in Iraq, in coordination with US Central Command (CENTCOM), Al Jazeera reported.
