LCI Industries (NYSE: LCII) reported Q2 2026 net sales of $968.7 million, down 12.5% year over year, while diluted EPS increased 20% to $2.75 from $2.29. Lower North American RV shipments weighed on sales, but cost improvements, pricing actions and the net effect of tariff refunds helped lift operating margin by 200 basis points.

Core earnings results

Reported sales included an $88.8 million reduction for IEEPA tariff refunds expected to be passed through to customers. Excluding that item, adjusted net sales were $1.06 billion, down 4.5%, with lower RV wholesale shipments partly offset by pricing, acquisitions, automotive aftermarket growth and higher product content.

Profitability moved in the opposite direction from revenue. Net income rose 16% to $67.1 million, adjusted EBITDA increased 7%, and operating margin expanded to 9.9% as sourcing and other cost actions more than offset much of the volume pressure.

MetricQ2 2026Q2 2025Year-over-year change
Net sales$968.7 million$1.11 billion-12.5%
Adjusted net sales$1.06 billion$1.11 billion-4.5%
Operating margin9.9%7.9%+200 basis points
Net income$67.1 million$57.6 million+16%
Diluted EPS$2.75$2.29+20%
Adjusted diluted EPS$2.70$2.39+13%
Adjusted EBITDA$129.4 million$121.3 million+7%

Adjusted net sales exclude only the tariff-refund pass-through reduction and should not be interpreted as an organic-growth measure. Acquired businesses contributed $16.7 million of quarterly sales.

Business and segment performance

The two segments diverged sharply. OEM sales fell as North American RV production remained weak, while Aftermarket sales grew and generated a substantially higher operating margin.

Segment metricQ2 2026Year-over-year result
OEM net sales$674.8 million-20%
RV OEM net sales$336.1 million-33%
Adjacent Industries OEM net sales$338.7 million+1%
OEM operating profit and margin$44.1 million; 6.5%$51.7 million; 6.2% in Q2 2025
Aftermarket net sales$293.9 million+10%
Aftermarket operating profit and margin$51.9 million; 17.7%$36.1 million; 13.5% in Q2 2025

RV OEM sales were affected by the tariff-refund reduction, fewer North American travel trailer and fifth-wheel shipments, and a mix shift toward lower-content single-axle travel trailers. Targeted price increases and recent product introductions provided partial offsets. Towable RV content per unit nevertheless increased 11% to $5,831.

Adjacent Industries OEM sales were nearly flat, with acquired businesses and higher sales to North American marine manufacturers offsetting part of the tariff-related reduction. Aftermarket growth came from pricing, acquisitions and higher automotive aftermarket volume.

Profitability, cash flow and balance sheet

Both segments recorded higher operating margins even though OEM operating profit declined in dollars. Materials sourcing, targeted pricing and the net benefit associated with tariff refunds supported margins. These factors were partly offset by tariff-related material and freight costs, higher steel, aluminum and fuel costs, merger expenses, and investments in Aftermarket capacity and distribution.

Operating cash flow was $346 million for the 12 months ended June 30, 2026; this is a trailing-12-month figure rather than quarterly cash flow. During the six months ended June 30, LCI used $92.0 million to repay its remaining 2026 Convertible Notes at maturity, paid $55.9 million in dividends and spent $28.4 million on capital expenditures. Dividends paid during Q2 were approximately $28 million.

LCI ended the quarter with $216.5 million in cash and equivalents, compared with $222.6 million at December 31, 2025. Long-term indebtedness, including current maturities, was $852.6 million, while total liquidity was approximately $812 million, including $595.2 million available under its revolving credit facility.

Tariff refunds and cost actions lifted margins as reported sales fell

The tariff-refund treatment helps explain the apparent disconnect between revenue and earnings. Expected customer pass-throughs reduced reported sales by $88.8 million, causing the 12.5% reported decline to look considerably steeper than the 4.5% decline in adjusted sales. At the same time, the net effect of tariff refunds after the expected customer pass-through benefited operating profit.

That accounting effect was not the only source of margin expansion. LCI also cited sourcing initiatives, targeted price increases and broader cost reductions. Underlying demand pressure remained visible, however, because adjusted sales still declined and lower OEM volumes increased the fixed-cost burden in that segment.

2026 guidance

LCI lowered its North American RV shipment assumption and reduced its revenue outlook because of softer market conditions. It nevertheless reaffirmed its operating-margin range, indicating that the company expects its cost and pricing measures to continue supporting profitability despite lower anticipated volume.

Management perspective

Interim CEO Johnny Sirpilla attributed the earnings improvement primarily to operational efficiencies, strategic cost reductions and higher product content per unit. Management believes these measures have lowered LCI’s structural cost base, although weak wholesale RV production and soft retail demand remain constraints.

LCI also entered a definitive agreement to combine with Patrick Industries in an all-stock merger. Management expects the proposed combination to broaden the product platform and addressable market, while the current quarter already included merger-related expenses.

Recent insider transactions

The supplied six-month insider data shows 75,031 shares classified as purchases across 14 transactions and 90,000 shares classified as sales across three transactions. That produced net sales of 14,969 shares, equal to 2.0% of reported insider holdings of approximately 716,660 shares.

The 10 latest individual records were all reported as direct derivative-security exercise or conversion transactions rather than ordinary open-market purchases or sales. Their reported values should therefore not be interpreted as straightforward market buying or selling proceeds.

Risks investors should monitor

  • Continued RV weakness: RV OEM sales declined 33%, and LCI reduced its industry shipment assumption. Further volume declines could increase the burden of fixed manufacturing costs.
  • Tariff and commodity exposure: Tariffs, customer refund pass-throughs, and higher steel, aluminum, freight and fuel costs can create volatility in both reported revenue and margins.
  • Aftermarket investment costs: Capacity and distribution investments supported the growing segment but also offset part of the benefit from pricing and cost improvements.
  • Merger execution: Merger-related expenses already affected Q2 results. The proposed Patrick Industries transaction remains subject to approvals, closing conditions and future integration execution.

Summary

LCI’s Q2 2026 results combined lower sales with higher earnings as tariff-related effects, sourcing improvements, pricing and cost reductions expanded margins. Aftermarket growth provided an important offset to the sharp decline in RV OEM sales, but the reduced RV shipment and revenue outlook confirms that demand remains soft. The main items to monitor are whether margins hold under lower volumes, how tariff and commodity costs develop, and how the pending Patrick Industries merger progresses.
